Let's start with a general understanding of Generative AI (GenAI) with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
Generative AI (GenAI) refers to advanced AI models capable of generating text, images, or other data based on the input they receive. Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) enhances this capability by using external data sources to provide more accurate and relevant responses.
daLingoAI is designed to provide a seamless and powerful AI-driven experience through three key components:

daLingoAI: This user interface provides an intuitive and user-friendly experience (developed by ddxbiz).

dxvEngine: This engine facilitates the interaction between the user interface and the AI model engine. It performs data reading, extraction, embedding, and vector processing (developed by ddxbiz).

ai-model Engine: An open-source engine from ollama, used 'as-is' to power the AI capabilities.
Installation and Setup

1. Installation: When you install the daLingoAI application package, it includes three executables:

dxvEngine (Interaction and Data Processing)

ai-model engine (AI Model Engine)

2. Model Download: Upon the first start-up, the application will automatically download the latest Llama3 (8B) model, which is approximately 4.7GB. This ensures you have the most up-to-date AI capabilities.
3. Ready to Use: Once the model download is complete, daLingoAI is ready to use. For added security and privacy, you can switch off your Wi-Fi or internet connection, as daLingoAI can operate fully offline.

Recommended Hardware
For optimal performance with daLingoAI, we recommend the following minimum hardware specifications:

Can I use daLingoAI without a GPU?

GPUs greatly enhance the performance of the AI model engine. However, if your computer doesn't have a GPU and you can't purchase one immediately, you may still be able to use daLingoAI. One option is to utilize a GPU through a 3rd party service. We can help you configure this solution, but we'll need to understand more about your environment to provide practical suggestions.
